Work title: POLY PLASTIC PIRACY (0001001868)

Description:
POLY PLASTIC PIRACY Commodity prices are exploding. A lack of recyclable plastics has moved manufacturing companies already onto international waters to collect plastic waste. [0] A bucket full of money but mostly a threat to our lives and more immediately to marine animal life is floating in our oceans. Poly Plastic Piracy is a floating strategy, involving both territorial and international engagements. Subject of the designed action is a worldwide plan to reduce the impacts of marine debris. Since the synthetic material entered the sphere it destructs and threatens the organic life. Millions of tons of plastics: polycarbonates, polyurethanes and polymerised oil, accumulate to an oceanic conglomerate of floating heaps; endless floats spreading over an area twice the size of continental United States. [1] The affordable Utopia in the project consists of the development of economic instruments and global strategies. The realisation of "Poly Plastic Piracy" will be financed by the collected material itself. The found goods in and on international waters belong to the finders, the `pirates themself and prospective plastic waste will increase value, that can be sold or converted to oil. The first stage of the scenario is set up at the topos: on shore, within the realm of 12 nautical miles from the coast line, referring to regional seas and coastal environment. Fishers, who can not find fish anymore in the emptied oceans, as well as available coast dweller get a small boat, equipped with float arms and outboard engine, workwear and a "plastic to oil"- converter, produced by Blest.co.Ltd. The thereby gained crude oil can be used for the boats engine; any excess could be sold on a private base. The provided equipment helps to build up a small business as a byproduct of environmental care and cleaning. In parallel the off shore stage on international waters is taking place. The ship will be a temporary settlement for researchers, volunteers and the crew. In teamwork with skippers, pirates and discharged (sub-) marines, the bottom of the sea will be vacuumed and filtered. The choice of places on the coastline and the ocean will be coordinated together with the United Nations Environment Programme, which has started a global Initiative for the establishment of partnerships, co-operation and co-ordination of activities for the control and sustainable management of marine litter.[2] Piracy as policy: Maritime piracy, according to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) from 1982, consists of any criminal acts of violence or robbery [3]. In reverse we understand our waste production and the irresponsible handling of it as a severe criminal act. The act of negligence transgresses moral borders, it violates the law, the law of environmental protection. Since the act of piracy can be committed in a place outside the jurisdiction of any state it is in fact the first example of universal jurisdiction. The union of state laws is positively exemplary for the goal of a global law for the environmental care and protection. A negotiation beyond terrestrial ownerships but terrestrial responsibility. Piracy and place: "In civilisations without boats, dreams dry up, espionage takes the place of adventure, and the secret police take the place of pirates." [4] The freelance pirate strategy of operating on international grounds will be carried into execution to collect civilisations deposits and maritime waste. The heterotopian stages of selfreferential reflections and mirrored actions will be transformed into operational and organisational structures. The hetero of heterotopia can be changed to either polytropes [5] or bytopia. [6] Polytropia is used in a figurative sense to reflect upon the equation between indecomposable substances and cycles of nature. Since the natural flows are faulted enough already, we purposely do not want to build, instead we suggest the reorganisation of labour and knowledge together with the reuse of already existing equipment. Poly Plastic Piracy is a design of coordinance that implies the possibility to approach the virtuous planes of by-topia a wee bit in reality. [5] In astrophysics, a polytrope refers to a solution of the Lane-Emden equitation in which the pressure depends upon the density. This relation need not be interpreted as an equation of state, although a gas following such an equation of state does indeed produce a polytropic solution. [6] The Twin Paradises of Bytopia, a Dungeons and Dragons fantasy role playing game published 1997 by the wizards of the coast, is a lawful good aligned plane of existence. Bytopia is a virtuous plane of cultivated beauty, and is home to many of the deities of the gnomish pantheon.
